The Australian Halal Food Directory (AHFD) is a collaboration between the State Governments of Australia and was initially funded by the National Food Industry Strategy Ltd (NFISL). The Directory has been developed with the support and co-operation of the Federal and State Government agencies responsible for the development of the food industry in Australia. It has evolved from the earlier editions of the Victorian Halal Food Directory, which will no longer be produced. Access to information and contact details of those agencies and others, can be found on the Links icon on the Home Page. NFISL is an industry-led company funded by the Australian Government to be 'change agents' in the Australian food industry [nfis.com.au].

The objective of this Directory is to provide international and domestic buyers ready access to information on the manufacturers, processors and suppliers of Australian halal foods. (The Directory does not aim to satisfy the information needs of consumers of halal foods.) A number of the halal organisations that have certified the businesses and products in this Directory are also listed. Many entries in the Directory provide links to their website. By being web-based, this Directory is able to be kept current and is available worldwide, to all.

The data in the Directory can be maintained directly by the organisations listed.

• Australian food suppliers are encouraged to keep their data current and also contribute information to keep this site of relevance to its audience. Designated administrators for each company's entry are able to access and edit their company information at the Directory Listing Maintenance section of the site, using their username and password.
• Any comments by users of the site are welcome by emailing directory@halalaustralia.com.au.

To be listed on this site, businesses must be manufacturing or conducting value-add processing food in Australia. They also need to be halal certified by an Australian certifying organisation.

Businesses wishing to list themselves should click add a new listing to be listed.

Users of the Directory should note that the organisations listed on this site have been included, based on information provided to us by various Halal certification organisations across Australia. There is no government verification of those organisations or the Halal certification processes carried out by them. Buyers should also satisfy themselves of the current Halal certification status of the business prior to engaging in any commercial business or trade.
